Mosses and Moss Gardening Lecture:
The discussion will promote the year-round green advantages of eco-friendly mosses in landscapes. In addition to mosses providing habitats for all types of wildlife including beneficial insects and critters, no chemicals are needed to successfully grow mosses, and therefore, contamination on plants themselves and to the groundwater table is eliminated. Also, mosses don’t have to be mowed, thereby reducing air pollution associated with grass lawn maintenance. The lectures includes impressive photography and bryophyte ID specimens for participants to take a closer look.
Hands-on Workshop *
Optional (Limited to 30 participants) Each person makes their own moss dish garden or “moss as art” creation to take home. Fee: $20 for all mosses, native plants, decorative rocks and containers.
